As the process or urban sprawl of the Feral District Brazil, the remaining vegetation sets in the cities are suffering, every year, significant reductions. Samambaia Administrative Region (RA XII), the remnants of native vegetation have been drastically reduced and in some urban areas its completely gone. Nowadays these native vegetation remnants are inside government-protected areas. This study aims at evaluating the spatial dynamics of the remaining native vegetation between 1989 and 2014. The research was supported mainly by GIS techniques, to obtain the spatial data set and spatial modeling of the study area. Finally, the resulting classification maps were made to assist the analysis of the evolution of remaining vegetation in the established periods. The current scenario of the study area is constantly changing. Were detected rapid conversion of the remaining native vegetation to urban areas. In 25 years, the urban area inside the Samambaia Administrative Region polygon has increased by 21.01%, while the remaining areas of native vegetation retreated 16.37%.
